This kit is an alternative to the House Blessing Folk Magic Kit with Railroad Spikes, for those who don't have outside property to speak of, or no access to dirt/grass.

Kit contains the following:

  • 1 blue chime candle (for home protection)
  • Home Blessing oil
  • Home Blessing herbal blend
  • 1 piece of petition paper
  • 4 rusty iron coffin nails
  • 4 rusty "Indian head" pennies

The collection comes in a steel mini bucket, suitable for gardening, or to hold cooking utensils or anything long and slim-ish.

The four nails go in four corners or edges of your home (inside, if you don't have a lawn, etc.). Dress them with the included oil, then drive them in to your floors at the very corners. If you have carpeting, take up a corner to put it into the flooring under the carpet. Top each spike with one "Indian head" penny, which will serve as a guardian. You may add a grain of corn but be sure it's dried out so it won't cause rot. You may also dab the head of each nail with your own urine to fix the spell - use a cotton swab and don't oversoak and there shouldn't be any scent to worry about, but be aware of animal companion reactions.

If you can't drive the nails into the floor, drive them above or near your doorway, two at a time - not all the way in, but hammer them into an X shape. Put the pennies into the X shape to hold it there. Hammer again if it helps secure it.

Inside your home, add oil to the surface of the candle, then roll it in the herbal blend. If you don't have a chime candle holder, you can melt the bottom of the candle and affix it to a metal jar lid. Write your desires, in your own words, all over the petition paper*. Dot a five-spot of oil - one in each corner and one in the middle - on the petition paper, fold it and put it under the jar or candle holder. Light the candle, meditating on your intentions. If you're so moved, you can chant out loud some of what you wrote, but it's not necessary.

Once your candle has burned all the way down, your spell is finished. You may burn the petition paper in a fire-safe container and retain the ash if you'd like to add it to your black salt.

*Writing the petition: You can write over words you've already written if you run out of room. You can use single words or whole sentences or fragments - your guardian spirits and ancestors are who you're addressing, so your intention should be understood. Examples for what could be included: protect all residents; harmony; peace; laughter; happiness; non-violence; accord; abundance; nourished.
